The last several California quakes, including a 5.1 off the coast of Northern California on 30 March 2013, were preceded by NERVS update tweets, but not a formal NERVS update message. However, a frequent pattern has been developing over the last few days (including quakes in Taiwan, Guatemala and Oaxaca). Additionally, recent quakes in the Caucasus Region, Pacific-Antarctic Ridge, Mid-Indian Ridge, Mindanao, Honshu, and a 5.4 in Burma (Myanmar) yield the following NERVS update:
4.5 or greater magnitude in next 15 days:
- Primary vector: Northern California (including offshore), Central California (including offshore), Southern California (including Baja and offshore)
- Secondary vector: Western Canada, Washington, Oregon, Nevada
- Primary vector: Northern California (including offshore), Central California (including offshore), Southern California (including Baja and offshore)
- Secondary vector: Western Canada, Washington, Oregon, Nevada
- Also possible: Vanuatu, Sunda Strait

For those new to the list, NERVS stands for:
Numerical (or "non-scientific")
Earthquake
Risk
Vector
System
...and is based on prior California quakes being preceded by similar patterns of quakes in other areas.
