NERVS update

Hi All,

The last NERVS update was technically accurate, though at the far southern end of the NERVS geographic area, with a 6.5 quake occurring in the Revilla Gigedo islands region on November 1st. Close, but off by a few days, was a 4.6 quake that occurred in Washington State on November 18 (the last NERVS update had a 15- rather than 10-day time window).

Also of interest was the 5.6 Oklahoma quake that struck soon after the last Sunda Strait quake, which may again mark an easterly progression of quakes along the same general latitude as those of Utah, Texas and Colorado quakes, and most recently, a New Mexico quake. This may warrant further consideration as part of the "stress latitude" observation.

Activity in the Kamchatka Peninsula, Guerrero (Mexico), Aleutian Islands, Iceland, Iran, Myanmar, Mindanao, Honshu, the South Sandwich Islands and Bolivia yield the following NERVS update:

4.5 or greater magnitude in next 10 days:
- Primary vector: Oregon, Nevada, Wyoming, Southern California (including Baja), Central California (including offshore), Northern California (including offshore)
- Secondary vector: Washington, Utah, western Canada
- Also possible: Turkey, China, India, Taiwan

For those new to the list, NERVS stands for:
Numerical (or "non-scientific")
Earthquake
Risk
Vector
System
...and is based on prior California quakes being preceded by similar patterns of quakes in other areas.
